Foundation Center Presentation Feedback
May 28, 2010
Here are two quotes from the evaluation of the presentation Steven did at the Foundation Center on May 12th:
Steven was an outstanding presenter. He handled questions with great skill and attention as well as presenting information in an easy to understand format. It was one of the best workshops I’ve ever attended. Thank you Foundation Center and sponsors for a great learning opportunity.
This was a fantastic program. Steven was an excellent, clear facilitator and did a great job of explaining all questions around evaluation. Thank you!
LFA Group Evaluation Helps Halt TEEI Budget Cut
April 29, 2010
LFA Group is in its third year of evaluating the Transgender Economic Empowerment Initiative (TEEI), a collaboration of the Transgender Law Center, Jewish Vocational Services, and the LGBT Center, funded by San Francisco Human Services Agency (HSA). The TEEI partnership and the legal, employment and mentorship services it provides to transgender community members are one-of-a-kind not only in San Francisco, but in the state and country. In April 2010, the TEEI partners were informed that the program was on the chopping block due to budget cuts, and had less than 24 hours to assemble speakers at an HSA public hearing. TEEI partners asked LFA Group to speak at the hearing, and detail some of the evaluation findings for the commissioners and the public.
At the HSA hearing, LFA Group’s Judy Jarvis spoke on the finding that not only does TEEI fill a great need among San Francisco’s transgender communities, it does so in a way that gives transgender community members the benefit of multiple, uniquely qualified service providers at once. Jarvis’s testimony, in conjunction with over 10 other speakers on behalf of TEEI, resulted in all five Commissioners voting not to cut TEEI.

San Francisco Business Times
December 20, 2009
In 2009, LFA Group was named among the top 5,000 most entrepreneurial small businesses by Inc. magazine. This honor caught the eye of the San Francisco Business Times, as they were looking to profile a small business that was thriving in the current economic downturn. LFA Group was selected from among a larger group of businesses to be profiled, because of the social impact of our work and because our success is built upon our highly engaged approach and strong relationships with the clients we serve.
