Community Experience Partnership
Client:
The Atlantic Philanthropies supports organizations engaging in work in the areas of on Ageing, Children & Youth, Population Health and Reconciliation & Human Rights in seven target regions – Australia, Bermuda, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United States and Vietnam. In selecting potential organizations for funding, The Atlantic Philanthropies searches for institutions that demonstrate strong organizational leadership, evidence of past and current successes, financial strength, and the capacity to implement projects and evaluate their success.
Project:
The Community Experience Partnership is a collaborative effort of the Community Initiatives division of the San Francisco Foundation, selected U.S.-based community foundations, and Community Planning and Research, LLC (CPR) with support from The Atlantic Philanthropies. The core goals of the partnerships are to identify replicable models for older adult civic engagement and improve the social perception of older civic resources and “the solutions to social needs and problems”.
LFA Group Engagement:
CPR engaged LFA Group to conduct the National Cross-Site Evaluation. Through 2012, LFA Group will employ a mixed-methods evaluation design, including surveys, key informant interviews, focus groups, site observation, and program site-level evaluation data to identify key successes and challenges experienced across the sites. LFA Group will also develop case studies for a set of individual program sites. This evaluation aims to inform the field about best practices for older adult civic engagement and to contribute to a set of recommendations around core strategies for making the model replicable in other communities.
