Our Approach

Highly Customized, Mixed-Methods Designs. We develop clear research questions and measurement plans. We are flexible and creative so that the research can respond to evolving interests. We use qualitative and quantitative methods to triangulate findings and enhance confidence in conclusions.

Highly Engaged Partnerships. Research processes are most useful when we work in partnership with stakeholders, creating appropriate and meaningful opportunities for involvement.

Respect and Cultural Humility. Successful research projects are only possible through a mutual regard for the intelligence, talents, and expertise that each of us—especially the population or group under study—possesses. We are committed to cultural humility and sensitivity in our work and relationships.

Learning for Action. Information is only as valuable as it is timely and useful. We provide results promptly, and in accessible formats, with specific actionable recommendations based on the findings.

Services Offered

Market Assessments. We conduct research to understand an organization’s environment and identify its niche to hone in on the most significant and sustainable opportunities.

Needs Assessments. Using a broad array of research methods—from analysis of service use data to population-based surveys to key informant interviews—LFA Group provides reliable data on how to best serve a given population.

Organizational Assessments. Drawing on standardized as well as customized tools, we engage stakeholders in a systematic process to understand strengths and areas for development.

Population-Based Surveys. To develop an understanding of the prevalence of community characteristics, needs, attitudes and perceptions, behaviors, and other questions of interest, LFA Group develops sampling procedures and survey approaches that yield results that can be generalized to a population level with confidence.

Sector Landscape Studies. When the unit of analysis is a sector or field, LFA Group adapts research approaches to collect information on organizations and systems so that a robust understanding of assets, gaps, areas of strength and development can form the basis of calls to action to advance that sector or field to the next level.
